Building on the tremendous success of the Easter Egg Hunt held in the spectacular Elmhurst Park, Woodbridge each year, we are pleased to announce a new event for all the family on Wednesday 26 August from 9.30am to 12.30pm. 

Fit4Families is a great fun morning in the park with an emphasis on healthy living, from exercise routines to slides & play to healthy food and a 5-a-day bean hunt, there will be heaps of fun for children of all ages and the whole family. Entrance to the park and most of the events is FREE!

The event starts with an Army fitness display by Normandy Troop from Rock Barracks, Woodbridge at 9.45am. After that, you can join in an exercise session at 10.15, 11.45 or 12.15 led by Lynn Turner to the sounds of pop music that will get you moving about. Lynn is Woodbridge's answer to TV star 'Mr Motivator' and she's not going to let you be shy about leaping around. The 5-a-day bean hunt starting at 11.15 is for beans hidden in the park which can be traded for a piece of luscious fruit from the Budgens stall.

There will be exercise slides and other novelty rides to get you moving all morning. (A small charge will be made for these rides.) Businesses will have stalls telling you about healthy foods and the five-a-day targets, exercise opportunities and how to grow your own vegetables.

The event will also include a ceremony to celebrate Elmhurst Park winning a 2009/2010 Green Flag Award (the national standard for parks and green spaces) announced by the Keep Britain Tidy Group. This will take place at 10.45am.

2009 Marks the eighth year running that the Park (owned by Woodbridge Town Council) has won this award; Elmhurst is the only Town Council park in England and Wales to have won the award this frequently.
