The Jewson’s Floodlit 40s is an annual tournament hosted by the Suffolk Rugby Union, contested by ten Veteran teams from Suffolk and the neighbouring counties.
Rob Simpson commented “The Jewson’s event is aimed at keeping older players involved in the game, and is essentially a social tournament.
Woodbridge Vets were undefeated in 2009 - and look forward to defending the trophy next year.”
Woodbridge Vets were also awarded the Fair Play Trophy for the 2nd year in a row. Pictured is Mal Gregory receiving the award from Brian Williams.
Fair Play constitutes approaching the games in an appropriate manner and showing respect to both the referee and opposition. As Mal put it “sending me to collect the Fair Play Award redefines irony.”
