Pick up a stone - save a knee - shake a leg!
Woodbridge Rugby Club is holding the Stone Picker Hog Roast, courtesy of the Kings Head, on Saturday 13th June, 2pm at the Clubs HQ in Hatchley Barn, Orford Road, Bromeswell, Woodbridge.
For a mere £1/head parents and kids can enjoy food, drink, music and fun in a relaxed and light-hearted atmosphere while helping the Club prevent injuries with a bit of stone picking from its newly created third pitch.
During the afternoon, in addition to the Kings Head Hog Roast and soft drinks, there’ll be a kicking competition with prizes as well as other games. Spot prizes will also be awarded for a variety of stone-collecting achievements.
The evening Disco is from 6.30pm till late and features fancy dress on a 80’s theme as well as a punch bar that will accept pitch stones as currency. A cash bar is available throughout. A shuttle service will be available from and to Woodbridge.
Club President Rob Simpson says “The new pitch is a valuable addition and will help more youngsters enjoy their rugby. But if we’re to avoid potentially serious injuries we need help to harvest this Spring’s bumper crop of stones and we thought a fun afternoon with a Hog Roast and Disco would be a good way of rewarding helpers“.
