6 January 2006

Woodbridge Town Council has honoured a further two members of the public for their outstanding work in the Town.

David Caddick received his award for being a School Governor for many years particularly as Head of the Governing Body at Farlingaye High School, for providing Summer entertainment in Elmhurst Park and for his work at the Rochford House Young Persons Trust and the Kyson Community Association at Peterhouse Crescent. The two people who nominated him said “appropriately for a Freeman, David Caddick has undertaken al the foregoing duties as a volunteer”.

Frank Knights received his award for his long-term association with the River Deben, as a former Shipwright, River Pilot and Ferryman. The two people who nominated him said “Frank would help all who needed him on the river at all hours, he loves boats and the Deben and is intensely interested in it’s preservation-his name is indelibly etched into the Woodbridge riverside scene”.

The final two Honorary Freeman will be selected in December 2006, bringing the total role to 12.
