On Saturday the 2nd of April, Mr Russell Geen, Woodbridge Town Mayor, presided over the events on a beautifully warm sunny spring morning in Woodbridge. The Mayor arranged a coffee morning at the Shire Hall, and a parade of Suffolk Horses (also known as the Suffolk Punch) in aid of the Suffolk Horse Trust, which plans to open a Visitor Centre at Sink Farm, Hollesley. This plan represents the last chance to ensure the survival of breeding Suffolk Horse (also known as the Suffolk Punch.
The Mayor and Town Clerk were resplendent in their official robes but I am sure they would be the first to agree that they were totally out-classed by the three beautiful, gentle giants of the equine world. One stood so patiently in Market Hill, while another pair hauled the wagon down New Street, along the Thoroughfare, and returned via Church Street to Market Hill.
