Now that Autumn is with us, I would like to thank all the Organisations that have arranged various events throughout the Town during the Summer months. We have had many visitors to the Tide Mill, Horse Museum, Town Museum and Buttrums Mill.
The Heritage weekend in September was very successful and our thanks go to those who arranged the programme of events.
SHIRE HALL RESTORATION PROJECT
On 13th October we welcomed the Lord Lieutenant, Lord Tollemache to the Shire Hall who unveiled a plaque marking the restoration work on the Shire Hall.
The first batch of engraved Pavers are due to be laid very shortly and we thank all those who have donated towards the restoration appeal.
Orders are still being taken and forms are available by either contacting the Town Council on 01394 383599 or calling into the offices at the Shire Hall between the hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Great Weather Lottery
Several leaflets have been distributed to homes in the Kyson Ward over the past few weeks asking residents to take part in the Great Weather Lottery.
Participants choose six numbers from 0 to nine. They win money if their numbers match with the last digit of the daily Fahrenheit temperature of Corfu, Istanbul, Tenerife, Innsbruck, Edinburgh and Stockholm in the correct sequence.
Take up will then be assessed before a decision is made to expand the scheme.
BRITISH LEGION REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 14TH NOVEMBER 2004 at 11.00 a.m.
Wreaths will be laid at the War Memorial and following this a service of Remembrance will take place on the Market Square conducted by the Rector of St. Mary’s Church, the Reverend Kevan McCormack. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
A short Remembrance Service will take place on 11th November at 11 a.m. at Woodbridge Cemetery.
Councillor Healey
We were very sad to lose one of our Town and District Councillors, Mrs Anni Healey.
Anni was very dedicated to Woodbridge and she will be greatly missed by us all.
We are also sad to report the death of Mr David Gregory who worked alongside Mr Lee Nunn the Park’s Manager until September 2003. David always had a cheerful smile and was friendly to those who visited the Park’s and Open Spaces in the Town.
Woodbridge In Bloom
Congratulations and thanks go to the Woodbridge In Bloom Committee for their efforts as Woodbridge achieved a well deserved SILVER AWARD in the Anglia in Bloom competition.
Thanks must also be extended to the many sponsors of Hanging Baskets and all those who entered theirs gardens, tubs and window boxes for the local competition.
Picnic in the Park 2005
We will be holding the 4th Annual Picnic in the Park at Elmhurst Park on Sunday 12th June 2005. The fun will start at 12 noon and continue throughout the afternoon.
Displays from Majorettes, Wheel Gymnastics and the popular HMP Hollesley Bay Birds of Prey Centre will delight the crowds.

Concerts at the Community Hall
The Excelsior Band have arranged several concerts in the Community Hall, again sponsored by the Community Council and very well attended.
The next concert is planned for Sunday 5th December 2004.
Skateboard Park
The proposed Skateboard Park behind the Deben Pool faces more delays. Investigations of the area discovered the presence of Methane Gas, therefore the project has been delayed whilst Suffolk Coastal District Council carry out more tests of the area.
It is anticipated that this delay will put commencement of the necessary ground works back to January 2005. Woodbridge Town Council continues to have a strong role in this partnership with Suffolk Coastal District Council.
