Buses
There are many bus services that run to, from and through Woodbridge, serving many of the surrounding towns and villages. The "Turban Centre" is the main bus stop for Woodbridge. The Turban Centre is a small shopping precinct that has a pedestrian link to the Thoroughfare.
The First Group company's web site allows you to select Suffolk as the area, then your destination town or village. It then presents you with a list of services, with links to the individual services' timetable.
In 2004 a new bus service no.184 was inaugurated to bring a service to the housing area of the former RAF Woodbridge, now known as Sutton Heath Estate, the area of housing for what was later named Rock Barracks.
Railways
Woodbridge is very fortunate in being linked to the main national railway system, with the branch line that runs from Ipswich to Lowestoft - a lovely train ride through the area - known as the East Suffolk Line, which serves Ipswich, Westerfield, Woodbridge, Melton, Wickham Market, Saxmundham, Darsham, Brampton, Beccles, Outon Broad, and Lowestoft.
There are some direct trains to and from London Liverpool Street, without the need for the usual change of trains at Ipswich.
"One Railway" serves Woodbridge station, which is located very close to the river Deben, yet only a few minutes' walk from the main shopping street, the Thoroughfare.
