Woodbridge Town Council Press Release
For this week only, the town of Woodbridge is leading the rest of the Country.
The clock on the Shire Hall is showing the time at an hour slower than other clocks up and down the country and is showing the time for Greenwich Mean Time, whilst the rest of the Country is still in British Summer Time.
The reason for this is that the automatic mechanism on the clock is set to change the time on the 4th weekend in October, however there are five weekends in October this year.
The clock will remain an hour slower for this week, and the rest of the Country will eventually catch up with Woodbridge, when the clocks officially go back at 1am on Sunday.
To prevent this occurring next year, work will be required to be done to the clock’s mechanism, as once again there will be 5 weekends in October.
